Quality Assurance Alert – Toxic Chemicals in Raw Materials

As you know by now, Griffin Medical Group only prescribes pharmaceutical vitamins and supplements. We are one of only a few medical groups that seek quality in all the products we recommend. We feel that we are the leader in quality assurance. Contamination in natural products is a huge issue, whether the material comes from China, India, Europe or the United States. It is not where the material comes from that matters, but how thoroughly it was tested for purity before it gets put into a product and sold. Here are a few of the solvent tainted raw materials that we have been advised of by the pharmaceutical companies we work with. The following raw materials were deemed unacceptable to pharmaceutical supplement companies.

Omega 3 Fish Oil that was rancid and contained unacceptable levels of heavy metals (lead, mercury etc.), dioxins, pesticides and peroxides.

Green Tea Extract containing 7550ppm (parts per million) of Ethyl Acetate
Purchased from a US based European supplier. Material was extracted in the US. When asked how this solvent showed up in such large quantities in green tea, we were told that the supplier sells material that has high solvents because other manufacturers do not care or ask about solvents and are mainly looking for the least expensive price. It costs the supplier money to clean out the solvent. They will do it if someone requests it, but then they sell it for a higher price. In this case they claim they had a quality control error and mixed up batches and sent us the wrong one. The certificate of analysis claimed <50ppm of Ethyl Acetate.

DIM (diindolymethane a supplement that contributes to breast health) containing 600ppm of Benzene
This material was purchased by many supplement companies from a large West coast US supplier. Material was made in China. Benzene is highly toxic. Some unsuspecting consumer is consuming it right now.

Licorice Extract containing 6ppm of 1,2 Dichloroethane
1,2 Dichloroethane is a very toxic chemical with a marginally acceptable limit of 5ppm. This material was purchased from a large US supplier that claims very high quality. Material was made in India. When pressed, the supplier claims the only solvent used to make this extract was water.

DIM containing 500ppm of Benzene
Benzene is a very toxic chemical with a marginally acceptable limit of 2ppm. This was a second attempt to find clean material. This material was purchased from a large East coast US supplier. Material was made in China.  One has to ask themselves how much Benzene tainted DIM is in the marketplace.

Curcumin Extract containing 34ppm of 1,2 Dichloroethane
Purchased from a large US supplier that claims very high quality. Material was made in India. Supplier claims the only solvent used to make this extract was acetone.

Just think how many of these materials get through to the consumer because many supplement manufacturers and companies do not test for heavy metals, deadly chemicals and solvents.

Griffin Medical Group is proud to offer this level of quality assurance. Our friends and patients can feel safe and confident they are using only pharmaceutical products.

Warm regards,

Griffin Medical Group

Supply of hospital pharmacies operating externally due to cost savings will continue to grow all over the next years. Even today, 90% of all pharmacies pribolnichnyh organized in cooperation provisioning This shows that the Canadian pharmacy online has become not take seriously the business partner compared with the pharmaceutical industry. However, the development of recent years shows that the industry sees its price registration stronger with the number of sales, thus strengthening the competitiveness of supplying hospital pharmacies in the long term due to more efficient logistics and a lot of sales.
